Research shows that spending money on experiences makes you happier than spending money on things.

Wouldn’t you just love to go on a adventure like this. I sure would. This is a once or twice in a lifetime type of excursion for most of us. Our experiences are what make the best memories, especially if shared with loved ones and friends. I love traveling to new and exciting locales. This trip below is on my must do before I die list. It’s up there with going to Europe, Japan, Mammoth Cave and Russia.

Natural Habitat Adventures – Polar Bears expeditionFrom their website:

Important Information about This Trip

This flagship polar bear tour has been our most popular adventure for over 20 years. Its longstanding success is due to the extraordinary polar bear viewing opportunities afforded our guests as well as the broad introduction to life in the North over the course of a six- or seven-day adventure. Two tundra vehicle day trips and a night trip are complemented by time spent exploring this subarctic outpost, all in the company of our professional and experienced Expedition Leaders. Regarding polar bears in general: Polar bears are typically in the Churchill area all year round. The highest concentration occurs in Oct. and Nov. Sometimes the best viewing is in the beginning of the season, sometimes the middle and sometimes the end – we never know for sure. The bears are waiting for Hudson Bay to freeze, and when it does, many of them depart. Historically, this has been in early December, but an unusually early cold spell may occur, hastening their departure.

Classic Polar Bear Expedition
Our “flagship” polar bear expedition. Polar bear watching in the polar bear capital of the world – Churchill, Manitoba!

Trip Overview

•See the world’s greatest concentration of polar bears, just outside Churchill, Manitoba
•Experience the frozen wilderness on Hudson Bay from the comfort of warm tundra vehicles
•Discover the challenges and joys of life in the far north in the outpost town of Churchill

Looking out onto the vast ice floe, we spy them, white on white. Alternately regal and whimsical and always awe inspiring, polar bears in the wild offer a natural encounter charged with drama and magic. Yet a warming climate and melting ice sheet are affecting Arctic ecosystems, threatening the future of all polar bears. Natural Habitat Adventures is responding with measures like our carbon offset program, and we have faith that humanity will rally to protect the frozen home of these engaging beasts. There’s no better time than now to see polar bears in their natural habitat, and no one better to take you up close than us. Come face to face with these kings of the north on a polar bear tour with Natural Habitat Adventures.

Odometer Fix on 99 Ford Expedition

Posted by hotcrowd on July 29, 2009

This easy fix will save you about $200-300.

Here is the fix for this. I did mine and it still works perfect after several .months, took about 30mins, easy to follow the instructions and pictures given by dakota_viking on ford-trucks.com/forums.
You’ll need these tools. 9/32 or 7mm sockets, No.15-Torqx bit or a tiny socket may even work, a flathead screwdriver.
You’ll need a simple soldering iron/pencil, 30Watt is plenty.

Most auto parts stores and even wall-mart have these around $6-7. Soft cloth to place between dash plastic and screwdriver or other pry tool.
The odometer is insided the instrument cluster and is easy to remove. You have to remove the headlight switch, the cover just above the steering column, and the panel that houses the headlight switch and also goes around the cluster. Once that is out, just remove 4 bolts, 2 connectors and the gear display (just squeeze tabs and remove). With that, the cluster is out of the dash and in your hands. The source of the problem, you will find, is a poor solder joint. For more details follow the link below. Best wishes!
